Delirious

The Empty Quarter - Delirium
It is about time I posted a lossless rip of Delirium, and as we've been having a little bit of an Illuminated Records revisit here you are, in a choice of 24bit or 16bit samples - and it sounds amazing!
These nine instrumental tracks vary between hard industrial techno-funk and eclectic laid back atmospheric mood pieces tinged with jazz and ethnic influences. I had previously credited Youth's bass playing as truly outstanding and something we never really got to appreciate with Killing Joke, but on closer inspection I note that the former dread-locked goth did not play bass on this album - it was in actual fact session bassist Guy Pratt, who was later to fill in for the missing Roger Waters on late eighties Pink Floyd among many others.

Ripped from a vinyl album released on Illuminated Records (AMA 24) in 1986 to high resolution lossless flac audio.

Needle Times

Various - Funky Alternatives
We all bought this didn't we? This classic compilation brings back superb memories of the heady days of my youth. It is a bit worn out and there are many scratches on my copy, but now seems about the right time to attempt a rip. It has come out fine though the eager eared will hear the evidence of wear on a few tracks. John Peel was right, "real life must have some surface noise". As compilations go, this was immense at the time but for me at least, the concept had worn a but thin by Funky Alternatives Three.
I ripped to 24/96 this time and then down sampled a copy to standard 16/44 for those who value their hard drive space, so you have a choice of resolutions. Enjoy!

Ripped from a vinyl album released on Concrete Productions (CPRODLP 001) in 1987 to high resolution flac audio.

The Empty Quarter - Delirium

I promised a rip of this album a while ago when I was on an Illuminated Records splurge. Well, here it is at last. Nine instrumental tracks varying between hard industrial funk and eclectic laid back mood pieces. Youth's bass playing is truly amazing, something we never really got to appreciate on Killing Joke's goth-punk sound. I've seen a few low quality 128k (or worse) rips around the blogosphere. Here it is in the ESWA standard of high quality variable bits.

Lossless Hi-Fidelity Repost Imminent

M.T. Quarter - Glass Finger

The M.T. Quarter aka Empty Quarter aka Youth & Ben Watkins aka Martin Glover (former Killing Joke & Brilliant bassist) aka The Flowerpot Men aka Juno Reactor. Confused? Who wouldn't be?
High quality eighties electro funk featuring Youth's superb bass work. I have the album as well and may rip if there's demand - but there are so may other Illuminated goodies to post first.

Glass Finger : ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Illuminated Records (ILL 5912) in 1985
A. Glass Finger
