Rubber Johnnies

Johnny And The Self Abusers - Saints And Sinners
Ripped from a 7" vinyl single released on Chiswick Records (NS 22) in 1977 to high resolution 24-bit lossless flac audio. Somehow I can't see Jim Kerr and chums covering this during their upcoming London Palladium acoustic shows.

Simple Minds - The Early Years 1977-1978
Ripped from a compact disc album released on Mindmood Records (SMVP 101 CD) in 1998 to high quality lossless flac. Unsurprising this grey market compilation of very early punk-new-wave recordings by big Jim and chums was withdrawn very quickly ...for unknown reasons. It's always great to hear what eighties stadium bands were doing as they started to find their way in the music business, but disappointing that the band members clearly didn't want us to hear these (maybe they just didn't approve the dodgy artwork?). Thanks as always to Steve for this rip of what is now a very rare artifact.

Simple Minds - Love Song
Ripped from a scratchy 12" vinyl single released on Virgin Records (VS 434 12) in 1981 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. For Penguinflight. I have a vinyl copy of Sister Feelings Call which I'll rip and get around to posting at some point.

As a side note, ESWA quietly passed 1.5 million unique views yesterday. No bad for an underground obscure music blog hidden from public gaze via search engines. Thank you to all for your love and support.

Simple Minds - I Travel
Ripped from a 12" inch vinyl single released on Virgin Records (VS 578 12) in 1983 to high resolution 24-bit flac. They say if you dig far enough back in the Simple Minds discography you'll find one or two damn fine singles. Here's proof.
