No Longer Angels

Dream Command - Fire On The Moon
Ripped from a compact disc album released on Island Records (CID 9961) in 1990 to high quality lossless flac audio. Back in the late eighties, Island Records mopped up a few bands for their roster who, shall way say, had dwindled in popularity/credibility. Among them, The Comsat Angels, who had oddly decided to change their name to Dream Command in 1989 and released just one album as such. It didn't sell in any numbers and Dream Command were no more, becoming The Comsat Angels again for future recordings.

Waiting Games

The Comsat Angels - Waiting For A Miracle
Originally released as a vinyl album on Polydor Records (2383 578) in 1980, Ripped here from a 1995 compact disc. I had a few requests to visit this after the recent Sleep No More vinyl rip, so here is the Comsat's debut long player which bridged the void between post-punk and powerful new wave. A highlight for most will be the original Independence Day.

Rock On Benefits

Com-Sat Angels - Red Planet
Ripped from a 7" vinyl single released on Junta Records (JUNTA 1) in 1979 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Here's the self-released debut single from fledgling punks The Comsat Angels who adopted pseudonyms to avoid the attentions of the Department of Social Security. Thanks to Steve for the rip.

Done Sleeping

The Comsat Angels - Sleep No More
Ripped from a vinyl album released on Polydor Records (POLS 1038) in 1981 to high resolution 24-bit flac. Likely one of post-punk's most overlooked acts, okay ...along with the similar The Sound. The Comsats built up a strong following but never really kicked into worthy commercial success. Unusually second album syndrome delivered us their best work. Sleep No More is deep, dark and powerful - a creative high which they struggled to achieve with subsequent long players. Enjoy!
