Swallow - Blow
Ripped from a vinyl album released on 4AD Records (CAD 2010) in 1992 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Remember that feeling when you hear something truly fantastic for the first time? It doesn't happen that often these days, does it? ....but it did for me when I opened this file sent to me by blog-fan Steve from Norwich. I recall this record's release but I don't remember it like this! Back in 1992, I had lost interest in music and perhaps didn't give Blow the attention it deserved! Expect the best fuzzy melodic guitar shoegaze band you ever heard combined with the most gorgeous sweet female voice. This record doesn't just grow on you, it jumps out of the speakers and into your heart on first listen. If some current modern Oregon hipster quartet was to release this on Sub-Pop tomorrow, kids these days would be raving all about Swallow from the top of the hills. Right now, or at some point this evening, many of you will be seeking this out on your favourite reseller's website. Copies are not going to cheap these days it would seem.
