Richenel - L'Esclave Endormi
Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on 4AD Records (BAD 601) to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Also known as Hubertus Richenel Baars, chanteuse Richenel first released L'Esclave Endormi in her native Holland. Clearly impressed, Ivo licensed the track for 4AD (remixed here for 4AD by John Fryer) and also persuaded her to contribute to his This Mortal Coil project. Her vocals on the Tim Buckley cover I Must Have Been Blind is one of the highlights on Filigree And Shadow.
Richenel was quickly snapped up for a major label deal on Epic/CBS Records for two albums in the late nineties. Thank you again to Steve from Norwich for contributing his stellar rip of the 4AD single.
