Stimulin - BBC Radio John Peel Session

From an old cassette tape. Many will not have heard of Stimulin but for a brief period in the 80s they showed great promise. How often have we heard that? These punk funksters nailed a support slot with The Clash, music press front covers and a John Peel session.
I've no clue why or where Stimulin disappeared to but I understand the Peel session may be the only recorded work (save for a few demos) of the band. The opener Sex Object is a top notch indie funk number in the vein of A Certain Ratio, 23 Skiddoo, Pigbag and other dance influenced indie acts, but the other tracks are less harder pop jazz affairs leaning more to Blue Rondo (a la turk).
Lead singer Alix Sharkey went onto work with Simon Boswell and the two were the force behind the two great Illuminated Records 12" singles by Out and Tara Butler - both featured in earlier posts.
