I was going to move away from 4AD for a short while, but what the hell, I'll continue dabbling in what is a perplexing catelogue for a while longer. Talking of perplexing, you get nothing more genre baffling than the debut from His Name Is Alive. Warn Defever's unusual ensemble mix ethereal-folk, classical opera, psychedelic fuzz, post-industrial percussion and acoustic meanders in such a way the listener is both confused and enthralled. You want to hear more only because you need to hear what comes next. Pretentious ....very!
