Totally Random On-U Sound Single

The Barmy Army - Sharp As A Needle
Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on On-U Sound Records (ON-U DP 18) in 1988 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Topical I suppose, reflecting back on a time when football was just football ...without all the oligarchs, megabucks and gambling apps. An innocent time, perhaps not, my interest in the game has waned over the years and it is disappointing to see they are still fighting on the streets and the terraces. Do they still sing Abide With Me at the cup final?

Barmy Army - The English Disease
Ripped from a vinyl album released on On-U Sound Records (ON-U LP48) in 1989 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. About time I got around to a lossless rip.
The football season starts again today. Most of the contents of this LP will be lost on non-Brits and those who didn't follow the beautiful game in the mid-80's (or if ever at all). I'll let part of the sleeve notes explain for the uninitiated....
"Project from Adrian Sherwood and the On-U Sound Maffia with a part of Tackhead as guests."
Regrettably, it does not feature the 75,ooo crowd at Old Trafford singing Feed The Scousers to the tune of Band Aid's Feed The World but does feature a wonderful tribute to Britain's greatest contribution to Hollywood thuggery, Vincent Jones aka Psycho.

As it's Saturday, time for some footie. Most of the contents of this LP will be lost on non-Brits and those who didn't follow the beautiful game in the mid-80's (or ever at all).

I'll try and explain the whole Tackhead/Fats Comet/Gary Clail/Keith LeBlanc thing in a future post, but for now, just consider this to be Tackhead overdubbed with samples from crowd songs from various British football grounds on match day.
Regrettably, it does not feature the 75,ooo crowd at Old Trafford singing Feed The Scousers to the tune of Band Aid's Feed The World. But does feature a wonderful tribute to Britain's greatest contribution to Hollywood, Vinnie Jones aka Psycho.
