Originally released as a vinyl album on Palace Of Light (POL 15/2000) in 1983. Ripped here from a compact disc reissue to high quality flac audio. I am grateful to blog follower Rob from The Netherlands for introducing me to the work of Kerry Leimer and specifically his work under the Savant banner. These original records fetch good money these days and there has been a brief reissue of the Savant work recently but here they are recompiled as the original Savant single and album.
These tracks are hard-edged dub-funk, many have suggested they remind them of Eno & Byrne, but for me I can only think of how A Certain Ratio or 23 Skidoo would have sounded if produced by Adrian Sherwood. If you want to hear (or buy) more of Leimer's work, visit his website over here.
