An exclusive. Courtesy of a blog follower who wishes to remain anonymous, here is Warsaw (or were they Joy Division at the time?) performing previously unheard song, Pictures On My Mind.
It was taken from a tape of early rehearsals by the band probably at TJ Davidsons in Peter St. Manchester during 1977 or 1978.
Edit: Now On Megaupload
ListenBack in the early days of this blog, I also posted another early demo tape by the band. See here
Brilliant this has finally become available through teh intrawebs, Blogmeister! I wonder if it's truly the last Joy Division track, though.
ReplyDeleteIs there any possibility you could upload this to something other than Rapidshare (Mediafire, or Sendspace, Yousendit etc)? Rapidshare always tells me there are no slots available.
ReplyDeleteYeah, same here. Been trying to get the file for a hour now.
ReplyDeleteYes, Rapidshare is a bit rubbish...
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance you could drop Rapidshare? Why the hell do people even use rapidshare anymore? It's utter trash.
ReplyDeleteI don't have all day to sit here messing with rapidshare. I'll check back in a few days to see if you've changed hosts. :(
ReplyDeleteI have let the band know of this download, and I hope they come at you with Layers; you deserve nothing less. You are destroying the chances of this ever becoming an official release.
ReplyDeleteFuck off Darkman. You're just pissed you don't have the 'exclusive'. Let's be honest here. This track sucks. The music and lyrics are terrible, the sound quality is shit. It was a demo and never developed for a reason. It's absolutely the worst song i've ever heard by Joy Division by a wide margin.
ReplyDeleteI think "You're No Good For Me" is a lot worse, to be fair.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for this and the rest of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI have about 20% of the stuff you've posted but your collection is way larger than mine. APB, someone else knows APB...
Ta fer this amigo,VERY nice!
ReplyDeleteNOW.....
Isn't it about time for SOMEONE to finally
put up the Derby riot gig recording?????!!!!

Do you seriously think this would get officially released, Darkman? It's a very interesting curio for obsessive fans to hear but beyond that I'd be very sceptical of anybody deeming it to be of any commercial value. It's a fairly rough recording of a very early rehearsal demo, the band would be accused of fleecing their fans if they tried to cash in on it.
ReplyDeleteSavage!
ReplyDeleteIf you know how to use Rapidshare properly, then you will have no issues downloading. Mediafire has been known to corrupt zips so I moved over to a more secure archiver.
ReplyDeleteAs for DarkTwat ....get the fuck off my blog loser!
Ha ha darktwat, loser, that's great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting it up, we all appreciate it.
Darkman, you are deluded, just download it then you will really have something! Who would want to release this? It's for completist's only. Not too bad, as someone said above, better than the early Warsaw demos, sounds like they are attempting to leap forward.
ReplyDeletehey folks,
ReplyDeleterapidshare cost you only a few bucks - whle you leech for 1000´s of bucks through its wires. are you insane?
Thanks for uploading this blogmeister
ReplyDeleteThanks to Transmission for putting it up on mediafire
As for Darkmong,ha ha ha ha ha!
A fairly good track, but no way to release it as the quality is very poor.
ReplyDeleteThanx for this...
ReplyDelete@the Darkman (???)
You guys may also be interested that Rapidshare just announced that they are upgrading servers etc, which hopefully will make it easier to download if you don't have an account.
Regards/
Thanks a lot for this Blogmeister, but DarkTwat could be right - I hear Simon Cowell is interested in putting this out as a single for next Christmas!!! Also why do so many people complain about Rapidshare - if you download in the morning while the USA is still asleep it takes no time at all!
ReplyDeletethanks for this - and for uploading to mediafire. absolutely no way could this be officially released - a half finished tape demo, for fans only but good to have. right then anyone got the wfsc outtakes???? great blog btw keep it up
ReplyDeleteWOW thank you, its a good find! i really like it!
ReplyDeleteis there anyway we could find the whole rehearsal tape with this in it? it would be great to have!
ReplyDeleteIncredible! Speaking as a long term fan, unreleased Jot Division tracks were the last thing I was expecting to find on a blog, many thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. Now I'll have to work my way through those Ratio and Durutti tracks.
ReplyDeletethanks for this - and for uploading to mediafire. absolutely no way could this be officially released - a half finished tape demo, for fans only but good to have. right then anyone got the wfsc outtakes???? great blog btw keep it up
ReplyDeleteThank-you very much. It's fantastic that you're doing this. Much appreciated. Ian (NZ)
ReplyDeleteCan you also please put up the entire rehearsal? I'd be very grateful to have that and anything else too. Maybe you already have and I haven't seen it. I can't praise you enough for it. It's so excellent to have this amazing recording. I had no idea at all that this music existed. I had always thought that there were no rehearsals recorded. To actually have additional tunes means the world. I think that people ought not to confuse a rehearsal with a release or live recording - it's new ideas and additional material for die hard fans who already know the main releases and who are passionate about the band. It's truly great to finally be able to listen to the rehearsals. I've been wanting this for ages.Thank-you. Ian (NZ)
ReplyDeleteSince megaupload is now out of commission, can someone upload this to another site?
ReplyDeleteSeconded!
Deleteme too!!
