November In Edinburgh

The Happy Family - The Man On Your Street
Originally released as a vinyl album on 4AD Records (CAD 214) in 1982. Recreated here from digital sources in high quality lossless flac audio. Kicking off another burst of 4AD stuff here is the only album from witty popsters The Happy Family. I have always thought March In Turin was completely out of step with the rest of the album ...maybe that's why it is my favourite track.

A1 The Salesman
A2 Letter From Hall
A3 The Luckiest Citizen
A4 Revenge!
A5 The Courier
B1 The Man On Your Street
B2 A Night Underground
B3 Two Of A Kind
B4 March In Turin

Impure Thoughts

The Happy Family - Puritans
Originally released as a 7" vinyl single on 4AD Records (AD 204) in 1982. Recreated here from digital sources to high quality lossless flac audio. Aah ...the jangle pop sound of a post-Josef K Edinburgh. It was clear years before Nick Currie became Momus he had his heart set on pop stardom, though maybe his self-indulgent prose wasn't quite suited to the stripped back rhythms of some of the city's finest post-punk talent. I really love this record because it leads on from where Josef K dropped us off, but only when I first disenfranchise it from the cult of personality that was Momus.

A1 Puritans
B1 Innermost Thoughts
B2 The Mistake
