Some more infectious jangly indie-pop, this time from Mexico 70, who were assembled by former Felt member Mick Bund. These two EPs snuck out in the early nineties and are just timeless. It is such a pity the band never went on to greater things, although in truth later releases lacked greatly in comparison. Enjoy!

Mexico 70 - E.P. Valencia

A rare excursion into the nineties from me. It's not that I will ignore the decade deliberately, it's just that I lost interest in the music being produced in these years - there was very little being released which, to me, was new and interesting, and hadn't already been done.
Occasional snippets of magic did appear and this 4 track 12" EP shone out at the start of the decade. With it's feet firmly ensconsed in the real brit-pop era of 1984, these four beautiful songs are so timeless and stand-up so well, 18 years later. Any band who lists their contact address as a pub in Windsor is fine by me.
Formed by former Felt bassist, Mick Bund, Mexico 70 released just two 12" EPs which were then compiled onto the album The Dust Has Come To Stay. Mick has since move to California and still releases product under the Mexico 70 banner to the US market.
If you know this EP, then I'm sure you love it, if you don't, then listen and you will!
