Small Town Creed

The Kane Gang - Gun Law
Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Kitchenware Records (SKX 25) in 1985 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Geordie soulboys The Kane Gang go hard-hitting disco pop with the powerful Gun Law. Chief protagonist/songwriter David Brewis has since gone on to find further fame and hopefully fortune as one half of the fantastic Field Music, but the rest of them disappeared from view after a couple of smoochy pop-soul records, except of course Donald Johnson who went back to his day job as A Certain Ratio drummer. A great singles band miles ahead in style, class and credibility when compared to Simply Red, Gun Law was kindly donated amongst a big box of great stuff by blog-follower Penguinflight.

The Kane Gang - Closest Thing To Heaven

From Hull to Leeds, then to Manchester and now to Newcastle for some gorgeous Geordie white boy soul. Kitchenware were a great local label who picked up numerous Newcastle band's and licensed them through various major labels. After the success of Prefab Sprout, The Kane Gang gave their label their second successful chart act. Produced by Pete Wingfield.
