The Weeds - China Doll b/w Crazy Face
A forgotten Manchester music hairloom (sic!). This is the only single by The Weeds who were Andrew Berry (FAC51 DJ and FAC 98 hairdresser), Simon Wolstencroft (soon to be part of The Fall), Carrie Lawson and Nick Arrojo (another hairdressing DJ). Apart from support slots to The Fall, they also appeared on the bill of the over-hyped Festival of the Tenth Summer and the MDMA archive hints that they once played Corbieres with a fledgling Happy Mondays in 1985.
As the name suggests expect some psychedelic guitar rock from these four young hipsters on the a-side, though this hack prefers the driving garage rock of Crazy Face on the flip.
