Ripped from a 12" vinyl EP released on Zulu Records (ZULU 1) in 1982 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Time for some top notch doom and gloom from our scouse friends Pink Industry. Forty Five was their debut EP as Pink Industry shortly after Jayne ended her Pink Military project with Nicky Cool. All titles by Ambrose & Jayne with lots of help from Dave it says on the sleeve. I am assuming the Dave in question had to be David Balfe?

Pink Industry - Pink Industry

Ripped from a vinyl album released on Cathexis Recordings (CRL 18) on 1988 to high resolution 24-bit flac. Here is a fine compilation of dark, brooding almost sultry minimalism from Liverpool's Pink Industry. The band's entire catelogue is bizarrely unavailable (I read somewhere that all the masters have been lost ..is that true?) though there was a badly mastered Brazilian compilation a few years back. I only have this and the infamous Morrissey tribute single, and after some research have found that their three albums and three singles proper are rare enough to fetch good money on the second-hand market. 

Multi-instrumentalist Ambrose Reynolds (he's a bloke if you didn't know) creates moody atmospheric beats to perfectly match chanteuse Jayne Casey's evocative vocals .....and ooooh that bass is so dreamy, Some of these pieces are truly stunning, with many personal favourites which I know many others will adore. Don't Let Go is a gorgeous masterpiece and If anybody out there would like to donate a lossless rip (or copy) of the rare Ian Broudie produced 12" single then please get in touch. You'd make on old man very happy. I'll post the Peel sessions in a day or so.

A tribute to the bedroom muso culture of the eighties decade from Pink Military follow-up band, Pink Industry. A late night Peely fave. Hardly a tribute to Stephen Patrick, though Jane Casey does promise to bin her Smiths vinyl if her lover would return - such sacrifice! Minimalist pre-shoegaze indie-pop.
