Way Out Of Shape

Howard Devoto - Jerky Versions Of The Dream
Originally released as a vinyl album Virgin Records (V 2272) in 1983. Recreated here from lossless high quality digital flac files. Howard Devoto balances on the insecure border between synthpop and post-punk on his only solo album, thanks in part to a significant contribution from Dave Formula who added the music to Devoto's extravagant lyrical meanderings. The two singles clearly stand out but other tracks such as Way Out Of Shape and Taking Over Heaven reminisce strongly back to those earlier Magazine years ....but in a 1983 kinda way. Great listen!

Are You Ready For The Rainy Season?

Howard Devoto - Rainy Season
Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Virgin Records (VS 598 12) in 1983 to high resolution 24-bits of lossless flac audio. I mentioned earlier Devoto going pop. Well ...with the help of Dave Formula's tinkling keyboard wizardry and a very catchy bass hook, post-punk's most famous widow's peak released his first solo effort with minimal fuss in 1983. There was an album too - can you guess what may be coming next?

A1 Rainy Season
B1 Rain Forest (Variation N16)
