The Kids Are Alright

Sudeten Creche - Kindergarten

Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Illuminated Records (ILL 1712) in 1983 to high resolution 24-bit lossless flac. I am very sure Kindergarten is the most requested re-post/re-rip on these pages. I've relented,so here you are in 24/96 folks. It's especially for Rob in Holland who has very kindly contributed quite a bit recently to the blog. It seems eons ago when I first posted this as an MP3 .. how things have moved on since then!
Anyway, as always on Illuminated, this is not the greatest pressing, and it was quite dusty. After a good clean up, it has come out quite well. Before anybody mentions it, there is a drop out for a few seconds on B2's right channel but that's exactly how the record is. Copied from my original post...

A fairly obscure Illuminated Records release. Sudenten Creche were a British minimal wave combo from Tunbridge Wells (or not ..as it later transpired) who originally contributed to the same EP as Vince Clarke's first public airing as Yazoo (shared here a few years back).
Heavily influenced by bands such as Velvet Underground, (early)Talking Heads and Joy Division, they also loved early synth pop acts such as Depeche Mode, OMD, Cabaret Voltaire and Soft Cell. The result is a dark, yet simply melodic sound. Dance is anything but danceable ...unless you just root your feet to the floor and sway drunkenly on the dance floor. Enjoy!

Goodbye Seventies

Various - Europe In The Year Zero
I remain unconvinced by Colour Me Pop's mundane sub-jazz pop, there were many better bands of the ilk around at the time, and their contribution just seems out of sync with what this 12" EP was about. Flip to the double a-side, to find two long lost classics by Sudeten Creche, and an abridged version of Yazoo's fine Goodbye 70's. This has to be one of the cheapest pressings ever on a 12", and the rip was a challenge due to bad warping, but I am please with the result, thanks to a forgiving turntable arm.

Ripped from a 12" vinyl EP released on SPhonograph Records (SPH 1) in 1982 to high quality lossless FLAC audio.
