The Power Of Independent Trucking

Big Black - BBC Radio Peel Session 1987
Ripped from a dubiously sourced cassette tape of unknown but fuzzy lineage. The only Big Black Peel Session was recorded in Chicago, rather than the usual Maida Vale studios, for broadcast on the 6th May 1987. It doesn't feature on the Keeping It Peel archive, but here it is anyway. There was also a 7" vinyl bootleg which I don't have.

Big Black - The Hammer Party
Ripped and normalised from a compact disc album released on Homestead Records (HMS 044-2) in 1986 to high quality lossless flac audio. Fine compilation of the first three Big Black EPs released to feed from the commercial success of Atomizer. Those lucky enough to buy the originals clearly knew they were onto a good thing. The rest of us had to make do with this compilation. Call me difficult, but I always preferred Big Black's edgy, almost minimalist early recordings to the more acclaimed later releases.
