X Mal Deutschland - Fetisch

Ripped from a vinyl album released on 4AD Records (CAD 302) in 1983 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Whilst their earliest releases were for the German market, a support slot to the Cocteau Twins in London led to the debut X Mal album being recorded with John Fryer for 4AD. A re-recorded version of Incubus Succubus was issued as a first UK single and inline with that classic eighties indie idealism, not included on the album. What we get is deep and brooding darkwave rather than straight forward gothics, so with the help of Peel, the band crossed into a wider, more post-punk audience. For penguinflight.

Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Zickzack Records (ZZ 110) in 1982 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. I mentioned last week that I had both versions of this, well my original German pressing has been lost over the years (bought in the once fine basement singles department of Virgin Records Manchester, from memory) so thankfully Steve has been able to step up to the plate with a rip of his original pressing.

Gothic disco stomper re-ripped for your pleasure featuring the thinking goth's favourite pin-up Anja Huwe. I actually had two copies of this, the original German red-sleeve version and this lushly re-packed (and re-recorded) 4AD UK pressing.

Firstly, I must apologise for really screwing up my posting of this on Monday. I decided to change my stylus and then re-do all the connections from my deck, but I then left a loose connection between the turntable and my external sound card which resulted in a lot of distortion in the left channel, which I didn't notice because I was rushing (note to self - never rush a rip!).
So if you pulled this down on the second or third of July, then I strongly suggest you ditch the file and again browse to the comments for a new rip.
