Tanked

Tank Of Danzig - Don't Stop The Music
Ripped from a vinyl album released on Antler Records (ANTLER 030) in 1984 to high resolution 24-bit flac. Musical history is littered with the corpses of punk bands who tried to make dance records. The once post-punk funk credibility of Tank of Danzig is smashed to smithereens by a crude attempt at making a NYC dance influenced album, To be very fair the record is saved by the fantastic Invasion and Tank Hymn/Tank Trap tracks which commendably remain a lot closer to their roots. However there is no excuse for including two mixes of the ever so duff Hey New York on the same album with scratching to match that of Wallypop's Streetlife.

A1 Hey New York (Radio Mix)
A2 Invasion
A3 Tank Hymn/Tank Trap
A4 Chinese In America
B1 Tankbeat Meets Mr. DJ
B2 Don't Stop The Music
B3 Hey New York (Exil Mix)
B4 Check Out

1982 State

Tank Of Danzig/Biting Tongues - Tank Hymn/Evening State
Ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Antler Records (ANT 006) in 1982 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. Tank Of Danzig du A Certain Ratio circa 1979, and Biting Tongues ....err, do Biting Tongues doing A Certain Ratio. Post-Punk funk anybody?

The Not Trending

Tank Of Danzig - Not Trendy
Originally released on a vinyl album on Idiot Records (IDIOT 004) in 1982. Ripped here from an Italian grey market CD released in 2013 to high quality lossless flac.
Best known over here for sharing a Belgian 12" single with Biting Tongues in 1982, German post-punk funk of the highest calibre from the short-lived Tank Of Danzig. Clearly influenced by the jerky funk of The Pop Group and early A Certain Ratio (and no doubt many others), their sharp-edged stripped down sound fills the speakers and gets your feet moving. Front-man Shengel is more Joe Strummer than Mark Stewart or Simon Topping, but this does nothing more than putting the punk back into funk. Extra live tracks feature as well as vinyl sourced debut single rip. Does anybody out there in blogland have the Third Issue cassette album or Don't Stop The Music LP?
