Flesh, Blood & Culture

Allez Allez - Promises
Ripped from a vinyl album released on Virgin Records (V 2256) in 1982 to high resolution 24-bit flac lossless audio. A quick catch up on a request from a while back, here's the second album from Anglo-Belgian jazz-popsters Allez Allez. Perhaps Martyn Ware was an unusual choice for studio production duties, however the result is fine, glossy and commercial. Though deprived of any major mainstream success, Flesh And Blood should have been a worthy hit.

A1 Valley Of The Kings
A2 The Time You Cost Me
A3 Unwritten Symphonies
A4 Things We Used To Do (Promises)
B1 Flesh And Blood
B2 My Name Is Culture
B3 Mama Lou Parkes
B4 Swedish Girl (Papa Was)

Go On Then!

Allez Allez - African Queen
Ripped from a vinyl album released on Kamera Records (KAM 007) in 1982 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. I featured the two excellent Marine singles on Les Disques du Crépuscule a few weeks ago. Lead singer Marc went his own way shortly afterwards so the rest of the band hooked up with Repetition front-girl Sarah Osborne to become Allez Allez. From whom we got two splendid albums and a rush of pretty good singles. As you would expect given the band's heritage you get some fun post-punk funk a la Au Pairs, Maximum Joy etc etc. Virgin Records released a more commercial second album a few years later which may appear here if there is interest. For those who want to hear more from these chaps, there is a fine compact disc over on LTM featuring a fine compilation of their works. Get that CD here.

A1 Turn Up The Meter
A2 Marathon Dance
A3 She's Stirring Up
B1 Allez Allez
B2 African Queen (Pour La Grace)
