The Little Big Band

The Little Big Band
An unusual, rare and much sought after release on Manchester's Factory Records label from 1988. At the height of Madchester, Factory snuck out this little gem. Rob Grey (incorrect spelling on the inlay card) was a busker on the streets of the city, who regularly busked the blues on the steps of The Royal Exchange theatre. Noticed by Vini Reilly, Grey was invited to play harmonica on and add some vocals to Durutti Column's albums The Guitar and Other Machines and Vini Reilly.
This six track E.P. featured Reilly playing some superb blues slide guitar as well as Swing Out Sister pairing of Andy Connell and Martin Jackson (ex members of A Certain Ratio and Magazine respectively) adding piano and skiffle drums.
