The Missing Brazilians - Warzone
Adrian Sherwood's one album Missing Brazilians project amalgamates the layered rhythm of African Headcharge with the heavy bass of Dub Syndicate - Annie Anxiety and Shara Nelson add occasional vocals. The sleeve credits The Missing Brazilians as Crocodile, Kishi, The Prisoner and A. Maxwell, but in reality these are pseudonyms for Sherwood and On-U Sound co-founder Kishiko Yamamoto. The album is highly innovative as each tracks builds into a crescendo of noise - Sherwood pushes the limiters up beyond distortion. An ingenious piece of work which deserves greater recognition than it did on release.
