Ripped from a vinyl album released on Third Mind Records (TMLP 28) in 1988 to high resolution 24-bit flac audio. If you know Area, then you know A Perfect Dream (it seems a few of you do) - for the rest of you Area radiate something gorgeous, ethereal and dreamy yet at other times they are dark and moody. Henry Frayne, Steve Jones and Lynn Canfield found a perfect formula with subtle textured guitar, layers of felicitous, hazy synth layered with Canfield's angelic vocal.Your host blogster is particularly fond of With Louise, Sympathy and the simplistic synth-pop of Thread. In the modern era, there are a multitude of dream-pop bands, none of them could ever come close to where Area found themselves in the mid-late eighties. Timeless.

Out of Champaign, Illinois came the subtle and well crafted dreamy pop of Area.
