Stephen Mallinder - Pow Wow (Plus)
Originally released as a vinyl album on Fetish Records (FM 2010) in 1982. Ripped here from a 1992 compact disc reissue to high quality lossless flac audio. I posted the 12" of Temperature Drop some while back and had been considering expanding to Pow Wow Plus at the time. A blog follower sent in a request the other evening and so here you are. Both the Mal and RHK releases around this period sound just like Cabs albums, except that you can hear who uses the more dub influences in his work, and by comparison which one leans to more experimental electronics. Guess what's up next?

ReplyDeleteOh, the irony. While the CD is a good thing, this would have been one case where the vinyl would have been just as good, since he (or somebody) futzed with the original LP content for the CD.

DeleteWell, not really. It's nothing major, but the entire contents of the original vinyl is not on the CD. But, they did add the single and the unreleased track, so.

ReplyDelete"Cool Down" was shortened to the half (Shame!) and "Del Sol" was a tribute to a sampler "The Last Testament".
