If you ever need to hear a stark comparison between the quality of a lossless vinyl rip and that of a mastered CD track, then you this is for you. I ripped this wonderful double A-side from an original Fetish Records 12" single. The pressing was of such a high quality, it only needed a light clean and minimal de-clicking during the mastering phase.
Strangely, the full length 12" version of Last Words has never found its way onto any of the 23 Skidoo reissue compilations, instead both Ronin Records and LTM Records chose to use the promo only 7" version. Here it is in its full 7 and a half minute glory.
The Gospel Comes To New Guinea b/w Last Words : ripped from a 12" vinyl single released on Fetish Records (FE 11) in 1982 to high quality lossless FLAC audio.

Many thanks for the excellent & brilliant "23 Skidoo" entry, it's nice to see Mr. Blogmeister is finally back!!
ReplyDeletePS. Hopefully there are still chances to see & hear some more "Bushido" stuff from here, if possible, as well!...
Ooh you beauty, thanks very much !
ReplyDeleteAlways really enjoyed 23 Skidoo but never heard these full length versions before. Massive revelation! These are so good, thanks for ripping them. This blog is the bomb.
ReplyDeleteThese rips sound brilliant. Beautiful and clean but warm sound. Really looking forward to more 23 skidoo/400 blows in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe Gospel Comes to New Guinea is a favorite of mine!!! Thanks so much for the Lossless files!!!

You're wrong mate..there is the full twelve inch version of Last Words in the Just Like Everybody Compilation(2008, 2CD reissue)by LTM.
ReplyDeleteCheers
I wonder if it was one of the infamous LTM vinyl rips? - bet it doesn't sound as good as this one!
ReplyDeleteIn this particular compilation Just Like Everybody (2008) by LTM, it doesn't seems to be a "Plug'n'Rip" work as a whole. I mean, only 2 or 3 tracks (the last ones of the CD1) could be decent vinyl rips. But the rest, sounds fantastic even if they were vinyl rips you can't hear any scratch, dust, or noises. Of course, I can't say that all LTM reissues are perfect rips especially the first Section 25 albums.

Hi, getting that FBI anti-piracy message after the link.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a re-up elsewhere? This is an incredible record that I'd love to have in HQ
Thanks!
