Two tracks were licensed to LTM for a live compilation, however they couldn't get permission to release the cover of Kraftwerk's The Model.
Never mind, eh?
Setlist:
Slinky
Guitar Waltz
Crazy Wisdom
Sweet Forgiveness
The Model
These files are no longer available as James Nice from LTM has objected to this post.

Great. I was always interested in hearing their rendition of "The Model" since i read about it in the liner notes to the ltm reissues. Nice recording quality, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, td
Sorry to hear that LTM have complained. If we all complained that most of LTM's reissues are sourced from vinyl, would he listen?
ReplyDeleteI already *have complained* about the Factory Auteur series being sourced from vinyl...and badly mastered to boot, as you can hear audible pops...don't think James liked hearing that very much...turns out that Red Turns To masters for their Factory single do still exist.
ReplyDeleteIn James Neiss' defense, some of the tracks did get released...the DIME seed of this material got pulled for that reason.
ReplyDeleteConsidering only 2 tracks from these appear on an LTM release it's petty and against the spirit in which this blog - and I thought LTM - were operating. I've spent good money on LTM releases, a good proportion of it stuff I already had on vinyl, but after this action I would think twice. Companies should think for a moment about those who keep them in business before rashly taking these kind of actions, which is what you expect from some major conglomerate...I bet Tony Wilson wouldn't have taken such steps!
ReplyDeleteThis concert was on the 22nd October 1985 not November, I remember it as it was the first time that I saw New Order live, the strange thing is that the last time I saw them live in 2006 Section 25 supported them there too just up the road in Blackpool
